SPORTS AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

athleticsOne of the seven goals that comprise every student’s Positive Development Plan is to embrace and implement healthy lifestyle changes, and therefore opportunities for physical activity at Shortridge abound.  Three Physical Education sessions/week are built into the academic day for which students earn credit, but there are many other times that students are encouraged to be active, including after lunch, during Clubs, in the evening, and on the weekends.  We also have two long-standing teams – basketball and soccer – who compete in local leagues.  The list below shows activities that Shortridge has provided in the past, but this isn’t static – students and staff collaborate on adding new activities based on student interest:

  • Soccer
  • Fencing
  • Frisbee and Frisbee Golf
