Certifications and Accreditations
Shortridge Academy was first accredited in 2009 by The New England Association of Schools and Colleges. We earned our second 10-year accreditation in 2019. We are proud to also have been granted membership with the National Association of Therapeutic Schools & Programs. In 2022, we were accredited by The Joint Commission, the worldwide symbol of healthcare quality.
Licensed Staff
Shortridge Academy applies a progressive approach to mental health and academic support within a transitional boarding school setting. Our team specializes in adolescent development. Fostering strong partnerships between parents and staff is critical to achieving exceptional outcomes.
We are proud to have a team of licensed clinical psychologists and mental health counselors, many of whom have training and experience in clinical social work. Our collaborative solutions effectuate positive growth and enhance students’ ability to function successfully in diverse circumstances.
Academics
Academic support is a core cornerstone of Shortridge’s educational philosophy. Our small, close-knit community fosters in-depth interactions between students and staff inside and outside the classroom environment. Because the educational and clinical programs intersect, students’ growth objectives are always addressed.
Amenities
In addition to classroom instruction, Shortridge Academy provides numerous ways for students to pursue their talents, develop new interests, and fully mature into independent thinkers. Under the supportive guidance of qualified staff members, the students at Shortridge are given leadership roles in their choice of diverse clubs and organizations. Taking part in different committees allows students to develop communication and leadership skills that will serve them throughout their academic and professional lives.
On-Campus Health Center with a Medical Director
Shortridge Academy’s Health Center is staffed by highly qualified licensed nurses who assist faculty and students in optimal mental, physical, and emotional growth.
The medical director coordinates and monitors all services the Health Center team provides. The Health Center is open daily until 10 pm, with emergency on-call staff available at all times.
The Health Center administers healthcare services to all students, including medication management, basic nursing evaluation and care, and first aid. Additionally, the Health Center team will coordinate every student’s care with their home medical provider.
