Unique to Shortridge Academy is a structure that includes student-led and staff-facilitated committees and clubs. These activities include a leadership structure where students serve as chair, vice chair, and secretary of committees and president and vice president of clubs. Committees meet once per week after school and tackle topics in the areas of student life including privileges, activities, dress code, community service, campus improvement projects, and student dorm leadership. Committee leadership rotates on a regular basis. Clubs are organized each academic term and based on the current student body preferences for activities. These may include outings, surfing, music, and arts.
